Facilities: Very good facilities provided by Shoalhaven Council
including; three lane concrete ramp with good entry angle; floating
pontoon jetty for easy boat access; seperate wooden jetty; toilet

General Description: The ramp is used extensively especially
on summer weekends by waterskiers. This often results in a short
wait to use the ramp, however due to the size of the ramp and the
facilities provided the wait isn't ever really excessive, especially
when respect is given to other users and you only use 'your' space
on the ramp. For inexperienced people reversing trailers it can
be a little difficult due to a stand of trees directly in front
of the ramp, which hinders your reversing approach, however with
patience and care it can be easily managed.

General description: A very good open area is allowed for
vehicle movement in front of the ramp. On weekends care needs to
be taken of considerable pedestrian traffic in the area. Parking
restrictions have alleviated problems with vehicles obstructing
the ramp approach. After strong lobbying by local recreational fisherman
Kiama Council and The ramp is open to wave surge which needs to
be considered, especially open to north/westerly winds.

Prince Edward Ave, Crookhaven Heads (Culburra - Shoalhaven River)
Access: From the Princes Hwy at traffic lights, turn and
head east (towards the ocean) into Kalander St / Greenwell Point
Rd and follow until turning right (south) at the Culburra turn off.
Follow into Culburra and turn left (north/east) into Prince Edward
Ave at the end of the shopping centre. Follow to the Crookhaven
Ramp turnoff and left down to ramp.
Facilities: Basically a single lane concrete ramp. There
is a wooden jetty adjacent with boat access steps at the end. There
is also a second wooden jetty nearby. The approach angle of the
ramp is acceptable with a good clear manouvering area in front.
Toilet facilities and fish cleaning table are supplied.
Parking: A moderate amount of parking is available near
the ramp, with a larger second parking area further up the hill.
However in this second parking area, which is slightly secluded
from passing traffic, vehicle security has been a problem so ensure
no valuables are left in your vehicle and especially not in sight

General Description:. The ramp is very open to the wind and
especially open to the wind and chop from the north to west.
Its location near the Shoalhaven River entrance gives good access
to the sea with quite a safe opening. Care needs to be taken on an
outgoing tide especially with an incoming chop (i.e. northeasterly)
as large pressure waves form at a number of spots in the entrance.
Clear navigation bouys and leads show the correct routes through the
opening to avoid a sand bar to the west and rocks to the east. Also
during periods of larger seas, a row of bomboras run off the headland
rocks. It is best to follow the leads out for some distance past the
headland and then head out to sea to avoid these. |

General Description: This is a two lane concrete ramp with
a turning circle with adequate room to reverse the trailer easily.
The ramp does get slippery so care must be taken. Although the parking
is limited, parking is generally not a problem as it is not a busy
ramp. |

Holden Street, Vincentia
Access: Continue south along the shore past the roundabout
at the Vincentia shops and turn first left. Ramp at end of road.
Facilities: Toilets located nearby.
Parking: Very limited parking available.

General Description: This is a rock shelf boat ramp leading
directly into Jervis Bay. The shelf is uneven and may only be suitable
for 4WD's. The ramp is very exposed in north easterlies and would
be unsuitable in these conditions, however it is sheltered from southerlies.
The ramp also allows access to a beach so the very limited parking
can be reduced by beach goers. |
