Haines Hunter Inducted
to Manufacturing Hall of Fame
Haines Hunter were inducted into the Victorian Manufacturing Hall
of Fame on Thursday May 18 in recognition of their consistent manufacturing
excellence.
The Hall of Fame showcases locally based manufacturers whose innovative
and sophisticated solutions to global manufacturing issues have
made them world leaders.
Over 800 companies vied for their place in the Hall of Fame, with
just 120 of these making it to the short list.
Haines Hunter was one of just 14 companies, and the only boating
manufacturer, to make it past the rigorous selection and judging
process to ultimately be granted the honour of making it into the
Hall of Fame.
Judging included an overview of all procedures, an audit of workplace
safety policies and total quality control manufacturing.
Haines Hunter managing director, John Haber, is extremely proud
of his company's efforts.
“It is a real honour to win such a prestigious award,” Mr Haber
said.
“Haines Hunter is very proud to be part of a group of companies
who receive such high recognition on a global level, and it is
even better to see a boat manufacturer being recognised on this
kind of level.”
Haines Hunter's achievement is even more impressive considering
the Melbourne plant has only been in operation for a mere three
years.
The awards are an intiative of the Victorian government and began
in June 2001 and are held each year to showcase the talent of local
manufacturers on both a national and international level..
There are currently only 66 companies who have been bestowed the
honour of joining their ranks.
This year Haines Hunter joins other world renowned manufacturers
such as Toyota in the Hall of Fame.
