SHIMANO TEN YEAR WARRANTY

'Unequalled Engineering Excellence' is what you get when you purchase a Shimano fishing reel and Shimano are so confident in the dependability and reliability of their threadlines, baitcasters and larger overhead reels that they are now offering an unprecedented ten year warranty against defects in materials and/or faulty workmanship.

This landmark development applies to all Shimano reels purchased after July 1st 2003, and is double the warranty time offered by any other fishing reel company in Australia.

A-RB (anti-rust) bearings are treated with a special coating that makes them ten times more resistant to corrosion than ordinary stainless steel ball bearings. In time, A-RB bearings will be found in all Shimano reels.

Dunphy Sports/Fishing Imports will perform repairs or effect replacement, at their option, with no cost to the purchaser other than shipping charges to and from their service facility. Naturally, this warranty doesn't cover claims for incidental and consequential damage, normal wear and tear, improper use or neglect.

So, if you've purchased a new Shimano reel since July 1st, make sure you fill in the proof of purchase warranty card found in the box and your reel will be covered - pursuant to the above conditions - for the next ten years. What a great deal!

ARB:

Shimano recently raised the benchmark in engineering excellence with the introduction of their revolutionary development, ARB (Anti-Rust Bearings).

These new bearings are treated with a special coating that extends their life by ten times that of a normal bearing and the proprietary process is so advanced that Shimano have protected it with a worldwide patent.

ARB bearings are currently standard in Shimano's top-of-the-line TLD and STELLA series, and also SUSTAIN and STRADIC series. But ARB is being introduced across the entire Shimano range as new and updated models are released.
